He has been rated
the no.1 batsman in the latest Wisden Cricket Ratings (based on Test match performances).
He has scored at an average of above 57 in the last two years ( 26 tests ).

very talented bowler- he can spin the ball both ways (including flippers, googlies, top
spinners, arm balls, etc) and his best bowling figures in one dayers are among the best by
an Indian- 5 wickets for 32 runs in 10 overs against a strong Australian batting lineup.
He can also bowl medium pace.
He holds the record
for hitting the most sixes by an Indian in a one day match : 7 .
